To be fully engaged in providing high performing Sourcing Services to Health First which are focused on No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship This position will provide leadership in the establishment and ongoing facilitation of system wide product value analysis processes and structures to support the alignment of system objectives, strategic goals, and control of system supply costs. The role of the Value Analysis System Manager will be to support optimization of patient care, patient safety, caregiver safety, physician satisfaction, and supply chain performance through the oversight of the product introduction, review, evaluation, selection and implementation process. The position will provide clinical research/benchmarks, develop and execute project timelines, document decision-making results and facilitate preparation of needed financial analytics. The individual in this role will be responsible for communicating analysis to all appropriate stakeholders and reporting on various metrics to measure the success of the decisions reached utilizing value analysis processes. The Manager will lead a cross functional team responsible for providing a systematic assessment and approval process for the evaluation and acquisition of products, equipment, and clinical technology resulting in the selection of the “highest-valued” products and services to be used in fulfilling Health First’s patient care mission.
Supports, schedules and coordinates projects that improve the care and safety of patients and employees as well as improve the processes and management of costs of Health First’s supply chain.
Leads collaborative supply chain initiatives as the clinical liaison with physicians, clinical and non-clinical teams, administration, vendors, and other individuals to maximize patient care, patient and employee safety and ensure cost effective utilization of financial resources and sharing of opportunities.
Researches best demonstrated practices, investigates new or alternative products/services based on caregiver input, observations, product issues, costs, suppliers, and other resources.
Interacts with those directly involved with patient care to ensure appropriate feedback is received before product decisions are made.
Serves as the system wide clinical resource for product substitutions.
Follows established Health First policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines.
Directs the Sourcing operations for Health First and ensures there are no gaps in the selection, negotiating and contracting functions supporting system-wide non-labor expenses.
Accountable for the FDA Product Recall notification process across Health First.
Serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day clinical contract activities.
Collaborates with professional nursing leaders to communicate product changes and educational needs and serves as the liaison between outside vendors and professional Facilitates exchange of relevant information with Patient Financial Services as well as appropriate database coordinators.
Serves as the point of contact for issues that relate to assessment, analysis, coordination, implementation, and reporting on clinical contracting programs and service offerings or necessary technology applications that support these efforts.
Plans, executes and manages projects under the direction of Supply Chain Administration.
Responsible for the facilitation of Value Analysis Teams (VAT’s), project teams, and general project management, as required.
Leads in the collaboration and development of programs involving products, product evaluations and implementations, and purchased services.
Establishes a calendar, agendas, and a process for the continual identification and prioritization of patient and employee safety, patient satisfaction, and cost containment opportunities.
Works with health system clinical leadership and supply chain management to facilitate new technology research and assessment, evaluations, cost impact analytics, and conversions to support utilization and/or standardization opportunities.
Conducts and participates in contract negotiations with vendor candidates: includes end users and clinical staff.
Develops standardization strategies to maximize benefits to human and financial resources applicable to Health First.
Performs supply/service/equipment analysis of proposals and agreements.
Reviews and Identifies trends in product utilization by facility.
Develops and manages the analytical component of clinical supply chain engagements, including:
Identifying best practice models that improve cost-effective clinical care.
Ensures identification and quantification of cost savings opportunities available through optimization / standardization of products and processes.
Validation and reporting of opportunities identified, decisions reached, costs incurred or savings realized.
Analysis and Communication of summary reports, supportive materials, and tools for clear communication of activities.
Project management of detailed action plans wit timelines, roles, and responsibilities for clinical supply chain projects.
Serves as the Lead consultant on clinical appropriateness and quality for clinical supplies used across the system.
Engages stakeholders at all levels of the organization in collaborative efforts to identify and source the highest quality, lowest cost products and services used by the organizations healthcare providers in the delivery of care to those receiving Health First services.
Accountable for achieving annual non-labor expense targets.
Licensed Registered Nurse or other qualified licensed professional with minimum of 5 years’ experience in a hospital setting which may include; Operating Room, ICU, Case Management, or other appropriate areas.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Nursing, or Health Administration.
Masters of Business Administration and/or Nursing, preferred.
Minimum of 5 years direct experience in a leadership role.
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a Value Analysis role preferred
Vast knowledge of utilization of clinical products required.
Strong clinical knowledge related to patient care application and physician/customer integration.
Certification in Utilization Review and Project Management preferred.
