The Materials Manager supervises the daily activities of the Materials Management Department.
These activities include the daily work load of purchasing, receiving, stocking, picking, inventory control, and distribution of medical supplies. Manages driver-courier services and mail services. Works with hospital departments to facilitate daily activities such as requisitioning of supplies, services, and equipment. Acts as a resource for the acquisition of capital equipment and ensures appropriate approval processes are followed. Participates in the annual budget process, value analysis teams, and disaster preparedness. Promotes a collaborative culture between Materials Management, Nursing, Medical, and Ancillary departments.
Experience/Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in business or related field required. Three to five years experience in hospital materials management and supply chain required. Experience negotiating contracts with vendors required. Computer literacy and proficiency required. Experience and knowledge of McKesson Pathways Materials Management and Omnicell Systems preferred.
