The IHN Sourcing Group Eastern Region Director reports to the IHN Supply Network Executive Director. The incumbent will manage contracting and opportunity analysis for the Eastern Region (Ohio and others) hospitals of the IHN Sourcing Group with the overall goal of maintaining best market pricing for the IHN Sourcing Group. They will manage specific product contracts as assigned; conduct onboarding sessions with new members in assigned territory, conduct periodic business reviews with C-Suite and strategic planning meetings in concert with the Supply Network Executive Director, the IHN Operations Committee and key suppliers. They will routinely monitor supplier compliance to contract terms and conditions; and manage savings with network contracts. The incumbent will partner with hospital administrative leadership, supply chain staff, suppliers and distributors. The Eastern Region Director will lead, coordinate, communicate and negotiate the approved strategy for assigned portfolio segments.
Eastern Director Expectations and Responsibilities:
Works closely with the Supply Network Executive Director on all region operations
Conduct monthly member business reviews to manage IHN SG contract portfolio and current initiatives
Will maintain an in-depth knowledge of assigned contracts and will ensure that all input points and market intelligence are included in contract evaluations
Will develop and maximize relationships with senior leadership, physicians and other clinicians to achieve clinical and contracting requirements
Conducting product and market assessments and market research
Complying with all requirements of the competitive bid process
Negotiating and managing contract terms and conditions
Verify and validate contract optimization and opportunities ensuring the greatest value
Capture and report associated savings impact
Obtaining representative member input from the IHN Sourcing Group Operations Committee and other councils and/or task forces as needed
Work with Group Purchasing Organization to deliver unique value analysis to support IHN Sourcing Group
Developing business and marketing plans
Effectively communicating with all IHN Sourcing Group member organizations
Managing relationships with members, suppliers and other networks to ensure satisfaction through timely communication and problem solving
Provide self-directed and independent analysis, manage processes, build relationships, serve as product specialist and ensure deliverables are met in a timely manner
Creates and fosters a work environment that is consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of the Independent Hospital Network
Supports strategic organizational goals
Abides by the IHN Code of Conduct at all times
Works with IHN Sourcing Group region members to achieve significant supply cost reductions
He/she interacts with member executives, supply chain leaders, physicians, and departmental level staff to achieve network goals, gain consensus, and resolve conflict
The coordinator in collaboration with the Network Executive Director will coordinate the delivery of all IHN Sourcing Group services to the hospital members
Serves as the liaison for territory member hospitals
Bachelor's Degree in either business or health care related field
Clinical or business experience in health care related field strongly preferred
Five to seven years of experience in health care supply chain or medical products industry
Demonstrated expertise in competitive bidding, launch and management of high profile agreements with documented savings results
Must be able to manage multiple projects against tight timelines and comply with detailed reporting requirements
A strong foundation in teamwork, decision making, negotiations and financial data analysis
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
Flexible, action oriented team player
