The primary purpose of this position is to lead Supply Chain logistics within LeeSar/CSF and to optimize supply chain logistics of the Regional Distribution Center with member/owner hospital systems. To develop and execute supply chain objectives and processes that engage Lean methodologies to continually increase operational efficiencies and cost reductions for members. To achieve system objectives in supply and purchased service expense (freight, manufacturer rebates, etc.) that reduce overall warehousing, and transportation costs. Proactively directs the organization and members in the adoption of leading edge supply chain logistics programs that support system strategies, leading edge supporting information system technologies, and advanced inventory optimization techniques. Leads consistently with LeeSar/CSF’s mission, vision and values and in support of strategic imperatives.
Responsible for the leadership of 135 employees with a leadership team of 7 to operate supply chain logistics functions comprised of inventory warehouse operations, receiving, low unit of measure and bulk, supply distribution functions, equipment management, transportation, and supply emergency preparedness for LeeSar/CSF and member/owner hospitals.
Develops, implements, and monitors goals, budgets, policies and procedures. Leads in the preparation of long and short-term goals and objectives for supplies and service requirements in coordination with organizational and member initiatives.
Provides guidance and leadership regarding supply utilization to directors, clinicians, and staff within the member’ hospitals. Develops and provides metrics to document performance and effectiveness of the supply chain logistics program.
Provides inventory variance explanations specific to utilization of supplies, asset physical inventory, perpetual inventory and consignment inventory audits. Identifies and implements corrective actions to minimize inventory variances.
Leads the design, implementation and on-going maintenance of an automated supply chain methodology and information technology system. This includes bar coding receiving, stock issue, cycle counting, package tracking, adoption of global location and unique product identification numbers, revenue cycle and supply chain interfaces.
Responsible for Distribution Purchasing and Demand Planning Processes.
Optimizes the supply chain via logistics and distribution programs and processes that enhance practitioner workflow patterns and creates the most efficient system of delivery from point of member registration to member point of stocking location.
Works with all members to administer timely and insightful analysis of inventory balances of perpetual, periodic and consignment inventory.
Develop and monitor inventory metrics and improve supply chain performance by overseeing work performed by teams and advising on operational matters. Develop and implement benchmark processes.
Aligns with Clinical Value Analysis Teams on product conversions to minimize disruptive impact to the department/organization.
Coordinates the logistics of implementing new products and Clinical Value Analysis strategies with system requirements and timely communication.
Elevates the skill level of the Supply Chain management team through formal and informal system and process training and development. Maintains processes specific to talent management and succession planning.
Develops staff through active participation in career planning, coaching and modeled behavior.
Acts as liaison to hospitals in efforts to advance system standards and processes.
Minimum of 5 years of Senior Management, Supply Chain Management and Healthcare experience.
Excellent communication and analytical skills (verbal and written)
Advanced knowledge of principles and practices for vendor management and contract administration
Experience with accounts payable, purchasing, contracting, data integrity and receiving processes
Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean processes

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Masters preferred or equivalent experience.
