Receives and processes all non-stock requests for purchase of supplies and equipment and office supply requests within specified time limits. Determines current pricing, freight and payment terms ensuring compliance with GPO contractual obligations where they exist on Special Orders. Monitors INR/RNI and Buyers Messages reports and coordinates corrections with Accounts Payable on a timely basis. Monitors purchase activity to determine where the addition to MIS or inventory is appropriate. Maintains files for all Capital Purchases from Budget process through receipt and payment. In conjunction with the Materials Specialist analyzes changes or new issues in materials and supply to reduce costs and improve quality.
High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience
Minimum of two years recent experience in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management and/or Purchasing and Distribution which includes using a computerized materials management information system; Healthcare specific highly preferred
Experience managing supplier performance, contract implementation, capital purchasing, and negotiation is highly preferred.
Typing and computer literacy
Reading and writing skills, organizing and filing, professional phone etiquette.
