This position is responsible for supervising the daily contracting function of the Sutter Health Supply Chain Services - Contract Management Team. Responsible for training and staff compliance in contract processes and the utilization of contract authoring, eSourcing and local project management systems. This position interacts with other client departments with a primary focus to enhance operational effectiveness related to clients’ work plan and contracting initiatives to lower overall supply and non-supply expense.
Ensure successful delivery of contracting service as defined by client and annual work plans.
Identify opportunities to expand and improve existing contract services.
Provide oversight and direction related to resource management of the contract team operations including recruiting, on-boarding, training and development, and scheduling.
Collaborate with Client’s Office of General Counsel on contract workflows and contract language changes for Novatus templates.
Ensures exceptional performance for service on the Contract Management operational metrics.
Performs contract management activities on complex or confidential projects and supports service lines as needed to maintain team operational effectiveness.
Be a contracting knowledge resource to other Advisory Solutions Contract Leads.
Collect, analyze, and oversee the data entry for contracting systems.
Manage workflow system/bid calendar for contracts ensure no price or contract expirations are missed.
Based on workflow system/bid calendar, work with the contracting team to develop and ensure appropriate timelines are followed to meet necessary deadlines.
Create training programs and conducts training for all new Contract Managers and reoccurring training for existing staff.
Partner with client’s privacy, OGC, insurance services, data security and other risk mitigation teams to ensure streamlined contracting processes.
Act as the liaison between client and vendor credentialing supplier.
Bachelor's degree preferred; MBA is a plus.
Minimum 7 years of experience in a consulting sector. Experience in a healthcare operations, consulting operations or marketing support role preferred.
Ability to price and support scoping of consulting projects, including translating scope into clear proposal language.
Understanding of drafting contracting documents, including consulting agreements/statements of work and translating consulting proposals into legal agreements.
Basic understanding of the healthcare industry.
Must possess strong analytical skills and have experience driving system enhancements, and proactively recognizing and delivering on new or improved reporting needs.
Ability to lead enterprise-wide projects, including large cross-functional efforts with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent business and financial insight, with the ability to quantify challenges and suggest alternative actions.
Understanding of project management concepts like activity plans, milestones, task dependencies, risk and issue tracking, and status reporting.
Excellent executive and team communication skills, as well as solid leadership and people management skills.
