AnMed Health is a dynamic, comprehensive health system in Anderson, SC with 5 owned and managed hospitals, 150 employed physicians/ providers and an emerging Clinically Integrated Network. The position manages and coordinates activities within the materials management department – comprised of both Purchasing and Materials Distribution. Coordinates purchases for AnMed Health equipment, materials and supplies through the use of Premier and CHS/CSS Contracts and other bidding methods as appropriate. Ensures adherence to safety and regulatory requirements for all purchases. Oversees clinical evaluations and determines the best purchase for dollars spent. Responsible for adherence to the budgets for Purchasing and Materials Distribution.
Duties & Responsibilities: • Hires, guides and evaluates subordinate management staff, and when necessary disciplines staff within personnel guidelines of AnMed Health. Gives direction to supervisory personnel for implementing policies and procedures. Approves employment, promotions, and changes in compensation within Materials Management. • Prepares department budgets and assures compliance. Provides information on cost forecasts, trends and/or other conditions which may affect operations or budget planning. • Assumes leadership role in development of annual capital equipment budget. • Coordinates and facilities the activities of the AnMed Technology Assessment Committee and the Value Analysis Council. • Coordinates the compliance to the CSS and Premier Contract Portfolios as appropriate. • Works closely with EVS representative to assure the proper disposition of AnMed assets – based on approved hospital policy. • Assists departments with information to determine specifications for equipment selection and procurement as part of the capital equipment process. Coordinates meetings with sales representatives and AnMed Health Staff as requested. • Meets or exceeds standards of compliance for all accreditation and regulatory bodies in relation to supply chain management. • Represents institution through membership and attendance at educational programs sponsored by CHS/CSS, Premier, both state and national association for professional materials managers.
Pertinent Details of the Role: • Position reports to System Chief Financial Officer • Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field. Masters Degree in • Business or Healthcare preferred. • Thorough knowledge of supply chain logistics, industry accepted procurement procedures, best • practices in inventory management and general business processes required. • Minimum of six years in the Purchasing and/or Materials Management field required with at • least three years represented by a supervisory role. Experience in HealthCare Logistics strongly • preferred. • proficient in meeting planning and execution required. • General knowledge of basic Finance/Accounting principles and processes • Experienced in the use of some industry accepted Materials Management Information System. • Visible leader, self-starter, strong written/ oral executive level communication skills and exceptional presentation skills • Successful candidate will receive a competitive compensation package, full relocation and excellent benefits
