UW Health seeks an experienced and strategic executive to serve in the newly created role of Vice President, Supply Chain (VP). The VP oversees all supply chain functions for UW Health, a $3.3 billion academic system comprising six hospitals, 80 outpatient sites and more than 1,400 primary and specialty physicians, many of whom are recognized leaders in their fields. As one of the top academic medical centers in the country, UW Health is dedicated to advancing healthcare across the state of Wisconsin and beyond. The health system continues to integrate operations and experience tremendous growth through construction of new facilities, acquisitions and regional partnerships.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer for UW Health, the VP leads a staff of 300 spanning procurement, contracting, value analysis, materials management and reprocessing. The incoming VP will have the opportunity to re-envision the supply chain across the system, creating a best-in-class model which is seen as a strategic partner with clinical and administrative leaders across the organization. As UW Health continues to grow, this position will also have the opportunity to grow in scope. The VP will play a key role in containing costs and increasing efficiencies utilizing technology and best practices based on clear metrics.

This is a critical recruitment for a valued and highly regarded function of the organization. The ideal candidate will bring considerable experience leading a wide breadth of supply chain management in an integrated health system or similarly complex organization. Candidates should possess at least 7 years experience of progressively responsible management level experience in supply chain, and have the interpersonal, communication and strategic skills to work collaboratively with peers, patients, faculty, and staff. A bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred.
