The Value Analysis Manager serves as a key member of Supply Chain Management and will coordinate and collaborate with all levels of Supply Chain, clinical and non-clinical teams, administration, department stakeholders, and vendors to drive evidence based decision-making, enhance patient outcomes, and ensure efficient resource utilization within ECU Health.
This position is responsible for utilizing the value analysis process to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and value enhancement. This includes conducting clinical efficacy research, reviewing new and existing product and practice comparisons, planning and implementing process improvements and product standardization with a goal to improve standard practices and processes for medical/surgical supplies, capital equipment, and technology.
Responsibilities
Oversees the value analysis process at ECU Health by reviewing and assessing applicable financial, clinical, operational, and evidence-based literature and appropriately assisting in the selection, evaluation, data collection, analysis, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up of cost-effective products and services.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with system and hospital leadership, physicians, department stakeholders, staff, and vendors to integrate cost management programs into departmental services to ensure effective, results-oriented outcomes.
Collaborates with contract managers and contract administrators to identify standardization opportunities and drive cost reduction initiatives at the system level.
Educates physicians and other clinical staff across ECU Health to the system-wide value analysis/New Product Request process and ensures the New Product Request process is being followed when new product requests are received.
Utilizes internal tools and technology for clinical efficacy research, cost analyses, monitoring actions and outcomes for new product requests, and standard reporting.
Facilitates value analysis system committee meetings by preparing agenda, monitoring attendance, capturing meeting minutes, identifying additional members to be included, and reporting on value analysis decisions.
Coordinates product, service, and process evaluation processes. Ensures that all product, service, and process trials and evaluations are unbiased and conducted professionally.
Researches and advises on product substitutions in the event of prolonged product backorder or product recall.
Regularly reviews value analysis charter and updates as necessary.

Minimum Requirements
RN: Registered Nurse licensed
Bachelor's degree in nursing, Master's preferred
5 years of clinical experience, clinical leadership experience preferred
Experience in budgeting, vendor relations, performance/process improvement, project management
Previous experience using healthcare data to drive quality and efficiency preferred
Previous experience participating on or conducting a product evaluation, value analysis, or process improvement committee preferred.
