We are seeking a Category Account Manager with our Procurement Services team to:
Independently manage the sourcing and contracting initiatives for UW Health, including legal terms review.
Negotiate contracts/purchases of goods and services for the organization.
Meet or exceed 3-10% hard profit and loss savings and risk mitigation.
Ability to take high visibility request for proposals (RFP’s) through analytics, presentations, and completion.
Present business cases to upper management, which includes data analysis, supplier differentiations, market data, and business requirements.
Represent UW Health in business meetings with internal and external partners.
Minimum - Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or related field. Four years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree in addition to the experience below.
Preferred - Master’s Degree
Minimum - Four years of progressive experience in category management of product and/or services portfolio, market analysis, contract analysis, contract negotiation and financial analysis. Two years of experience with sophisticated materials management information systems software (preferably PeopleSoft).
Preferred - Category management in a healthcare setting
Licenses and Certifications:
Preferred - CPSM – Certified Professional in Supply Management
CMRP- Certified Materials & Resource Professional

Possess advanced knowledge of managerial finance.
Possess external knowledge of healthcare market influences concerning current group purchasing activities.
Understand efficient and current supply chain trends within the healthcare industry.
Understand basic clinical supply and equipment use and application.
Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
This full-time, 40 hours per week position has shifts scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
