Reporting to the System VP Supply Chain, The Director of Supply Chain Logistics has the responsibility to provide overall leadership for all aspects of the Main Line Health (MLH) Supply Chain strategic objectives, process improvement initiatives and policies as they relate to the logistical operations and inventory management functions of each of campuses.
As the Director, you will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative and ancillary staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes, including implementation of benchmarking findings and technology assessments. In this role you will also serve as the Safety Liaison to the MLH system. The Director ensures the ability to meet existing and future business needs for all supply chain functions and initiatives. You will Serve as the liaison for all safety surveys (JCAHO/DOH). Using your expertise, you will drive operational excellence and best practices across the system to include new member hospitals and implement distribution ‘best practices’ such as system integration and optimization, inventory control, demand planning and supply utilization optimization.
Additional responsibilities include:
Create and maintain the Supply Chain Management (SCM) plan and services as the system representative for all regulatory surveys for logistics.
Responsible for developing, documenting and executing a system-wide comprehensive logistics and distribution strategic plan which will drive optimal customer service.
Manage and optimize the system supply chain logistics distribution network within multiple hospitals.
Direct the onsite SCM Operations Directors to assure a coordinated system approach for all supply chain functions.
Responsible for developing, documenting and executing a system wide logistics management program for surgical instrumentation utilizing an instrument tracking program.
Must be proficient in utilizing the MMIS, run utilization reports / stock inquiries / PO approvals.
Bachelors Degree in Business or related field.
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in progressively senior positions managing supply chain/inventory management/purchasing in a hospital/clinical setting with demonstrated expertise in a specialty area required.
Operations experience required.
Management experience preferred with strong influence and mentoring skills.
Experience with project management processes. Proven ability to manage cost performance with demonstrated capacity to build relationships internally and externally.
In depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes and current best practices.
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft MMIS 9.2 or higher.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
