Under the supervision of the Director of Purchasing, this role primarily serves in an oversight capacity guiding the workflow process and productivity of the Supply Chain Contracting staff.
The contracting staff, review, draft, negotiate, and facilitate full execution of supply related agreements on behalf of Tampa General Hospital.
Other duties of this position include but are not limited to preparing accurate and comprehensive decision support data which includes cost analytics, usage data, forecasting, benchmarking analysis, compliance reporting, and a compilation of other significant data to assist supply chain leadership to guide and support a continuous strategic direction regarding maximizing supply cost savings.
Maintains a close working relationship with the various product line Business Managers and assists as needed by providing them with the required analytics to assist them in achieving cost-savings.
Facilitates and maintains a collegial relationship between the Contracting, Procurement, and MMIS staff to assure that the Item Master is always up-to-date and accurate. Other duties include oversight of the Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) process for a multitude of supply chain related initiatives.
Assists in the development and/or amending internal policies and procedures associated with supply chain contracting activity and assists in improving workflows associated with the organization's contracting activities.
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain required, an M.B.A. , M.H.A. or other healthcare or finance related Master's degree preferred.
A minimum of seven years of supply chain /procurement related experience with at least five years of managerial experience.
Hospital/Healthcare experience strongly desired.
A sound understanding of contract law related to establishing price agreements with vendors that are consistent with organizational needs and interest.
Must possess outstanding research, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
A demonstrated competence in contract drafting and an ability to assess, scope and draft agreements consistent with organizational needs and interests.
Demonstrated proficiency with applications within Office 2013.
An intermediate skill level with the use of Excel is required. Experience with the use of GHX and Oracle PeopleSoft applications is a plus.
