Mammoth Hospital is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team! The Senior Staff Accountant oversees and is responsible for accounts payable, accounting/bookkeeping, fixed assets, budgeting and financial analysis. This position also performs related duties assigned or required by the Controller and/or CFO. This position requires autonomous and responsible performance of advanced accounting functions.
What You'll Do:
Completes month-end general ledger close duties including J/Es, account reconciliations, and accounting research.
Prepares documentation for the annual audit prep with no major audit comments for Hospital, Foundation and Auxiliary.
Prepares the annual capital and operating budget in cooperation with CFO/Controller.
Monitors, reports on, and reconciles cash & accounts receivable balances.
Performs monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation with no pending items greater than 60 days.
Maintains and assures the accuracy of the general ledger and subsidiary accounting ledgers, such as fixed asset ledger, long-term debt amortization schedules, liability accruals, etc.
Collects and reports volume statistics (such as patient days, outpatient visits, numbers of various ancillary tests/procedures performed, etc.) on a monthly basis for financial statement reporting and regulatory reporting (e.g. for Medicare cost reporting and OSHPD reporting).
Prepares and transmits quarterly OSHPD financial and statistical reports accurately and timely.
Prepares and sends monthly and quarterly state sales tax returns accurately and timely.
Prepares and distributes monthly departmental financial performance reports to department managers.
Prepares monthly financial statements and other reports to be used by management for analyzing financial information.
Performs monthly reviews of CIP accounts to ensure assets are moved into the proper asset category when projects are completed.
Monitors bond reports from county and maintains general ledger per bond schedules.
Performs various financial analyses on an as-needed basis as requested by the Controller and as needed to assist management
