Job Summary/Purpose: The Director will supervise and provide leadership for the team providing system level supply sourcing and contracting activity, vendor selection and contract negotiations, product and financial analysis, and development and management of MUSC system supply contracts and MUSC Charleston and regional location local contracts. The Director is responsible for leading the implementation of system-level value analysis decisions resulting in system standardized clinical and non-clinical improvement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field is required with 10+ years as a senior professional in a role of purchasing or GPO/contracting in a large hospital or health system. Six years of progressive management experience within supply chain industry. Academic Medical Center experience is desired. Ability to learn new products, categories or service lines and evaluate best offerings; experience with SWOT or other market analysis tools; ability to apply knowledge to how end users’ interface with product recommendations or solutions. Ability to thoroughly assess new concepts and ideas and determine appropriateness for MUSC. Strong Analytical Skills, contract negotiation, contract management, supply chain operations, materials management / purchasing with ability to perform ROI for select products/service lines. Proficient in MS Office suite of products; advanced excel user. Preferred Attributes
