As our Clinical Engineering Director, you will manage the Clinical Engineering department as well as oversee the medical equipment management program throughout our growing system, including Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, UCLA Medical Center Santa Monica, and other outpatient clinics and imaging centers. Responsibilities include: Assuring safe and accurate operation of medical equipment with minimal down time. Managing outside vendor maintenance agreements. Developing and managing policies and procedures as well as departmental operating and capital budgets. Maintaining competent staffing and supervising direct reports. Planning and managing High Inventory Multiple Department (HIMDE) equipment replacement. Developing and implementing program related hospital policies. Overseeing medical equipment recall notifications and safety alerts.
We’re seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented professional with: Related Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. At least five years of management/director experience, including experience with represented staff. Multi-system approach experience. Experience in capital equipment replacement projections. Technical knowledge of medical equipment operation/maintenance and clinical technology. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills. Strong technical writing and documentation abilities. Knowledge of human resources recruitment, development and management. Commitment to meeting quality, financial and customer satisfaction goals. Knowledge of accreditation, local, state and federal regulations and standards. Knowledge and familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for biomedical & clinical engineering operations. Joint Commission Compliance experience is critical. Great relationship with nursing is essential.
